Q:

Cleaning the GUNK! FGHD2433KF1 Frigidaire Dishwasher

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is problems with the dishwasher.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Frigidaire Dishwasher model number FGHD2433KF1.

You can remove all the spray arms.  Get something like a toothpick to clean out the ports (spray holes).   I would let it set in some hot vinegar water,   Worth a try.  It sounds like, however, that you should just replace the spray arms.    I have a picture below showing the arms.

The Dishwasher gets gunky for 2 facts.   Hard water build up that comes in through the water line and remains in the dishwasher.   There is 2 key items best to used every 4 to 6 months.   There is dishwasher magic part #wx10x10200 that is designed to clean the water lines and get rid of the hardwater build-up and there is dishwasher affresh w10135699 that penetrates, dissolves and helps remove odor-causing residue that remains inside the dish washer part #w10135699.

Im looking at your model number GSD5560G00SS. Your model does have a filter at the bottom that may need cleaning. I also recommend using a dishwasher cleaner that will clean out the spray arms and drain pump from any build up.

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when the dishwasher spray arms aren't running well.

I looked and looked twice to verify at your model 665.16469300 for a filter.   I do not see one on your model.   I do know from experience that these spray arms go bad due to hardwater build up.   Clogs the lines and port holes.  Should just have to remove the nut in the middle of the spray arm.

I can tell you also that it happens to many people  due to hard water build up and naturaly water/food build up.   We highly recommend you changing your spray arm but also get dishwasher magic and dishwaser affrest.   Dishwasher magic cleans the lines coming in and goin out, while affresh cleans the particles from the inside.   After you put in a new spray arm and use these 2 items your dishwasher will seem new again.
