I know that it can be very frustrating to have issues with your shampooer. However, the original part for this item, was substituted by the manufacture. This should mean that it may look different, but it will work the same way. I would suggest that you take this to your local Sears store and drop it off at the service counter. Neither of these answers helps at all. The part that I ordered came from the link above and is nothing like my dispenser rod. It does not work. I have attached a picture of my dispenser rod which has a head at the top and a ball at the bottom and the one that I received from Sears which is a piece of wire with a hook at the top. I also visited the store and waited 30 minutes at a kiosk for help from "parts and repairs" only to be told that they could send the shampooer to Florida for a charge of $40 to see if it can be repaired. The dispenser rod is a $3 part. Please take a look at the photo. As I said, my dispenser has a head and a ball at the end. Is that part available?
