Q:

Why Humidifier indicate F when full?

A:

Thank you for your question. I'm sorry you are having this problem with the humidifier and I can understand your concern. Unfortunately, I'm not able to access any information with the part number listed. However, if the bottle is still full and there is water in the base, check for a stuck float and also check the switch. The switch should make a clicking sound when activated. If the float and switch check ok, the control may then need to be replaced. If the fan selection is also not working, it would further lead to a faulty control board. I would recommend having a technician check this first. I'm listing a site you can access, for the nearest repair center. Here is a link that will provide the nearest drop-off locations: Sears Home Services. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and please include the complete model and serial number and I will assist you further.

I purchased the same model on 11/29/2014 and didn't realize that the Fan control didn't work. I figured it was just a faulty fill control as it seemed to work okay. Turns out it doesn't maintain the desired humidity level and the fan doesn't work so thanks for the suggestion Scott D. I will return it for repair.

Good info Henry, however does not help in my case since I can't get it to move at all. It will start but wont pull. I dont thin the belt is the problem since it will not move even when pushed by hand. I did see something about checking the brake on the page about purging the tranny so will go look into that. Thanks all for the help. My Dad gave me this mower. He purhcased it about 2 years ago then after putting it away for the season upon trying it it was stuck. Repairman told him it would be about $1200 for transmission and labor.

He could not afford this so gave it to me since I am somewhat handy in these areas. Dad is 86 and can't do it. Easier to just go by another with warranty he says.Lol.

Just wanted to report, after reading this and many posts I wanted to try again. I looked at the brake stuck idea. Turns out the clutch/brake would function correctly but the le er at the brake being stuck would not let it disengage. I had my daughter work the pedal and while shedid this could see the lever was not moving. I simply reached up, pushed forward hard and it disengaged. Both wheels would then turn. Put on WD-40. Dropped the mower, fired it up and drove away. All in all this was the easy part. The hard part was calling my Dad and telling him there was absolutely nothing wrong with "MY" mower. Thanks, maybe this will help someone else.

Thank you for your question.   I am sorry you are having a problem with the tractor. Based on what you have stated I suspect the problem is a stuck brake. On the right side back of the tractor just inside the frame rail, you will see the brake lever. Just move the brake lever by hand. If the lever snaps back, forward when you touch it I recommend spraying some lube on just the lever. Then work it back and forth. Once it feels free check the operation. If the brake is not the problem, I suspect you have an internal transaxle problem. This type of failure usually requires the transaxle to be replaced. The parts for the tractor (if needed) can be ordered from the following link.  Repair parts for Craftsman tractor model number 917.276843 I hope this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance.   Thank you for using Manage my life.  Mark T.
