Q:

On my Power Washer , My Detergent is not sucked in at low pressure, What might be wrong and what parts will I need.

A:

Without having the model number of your pressure washer I will not be able to provide any model specific information or any parts that may be needed. There is likely a restriction somewhere between the detergent reservoir and the pump. As low-pressure water flows through the injector venturi throat, its velocity increases at its pressure decreases. This suction created by the low pressure at the venturi throat draws the liquid chemical (soap) through a strainer into the siphon tube, around and past the spring-loaded ball, through the small orifice in the venturi, and into the water stream. Check the completer siphon system for any blockages.

Resubmit your question with the model number if needed for further model specific information.

Thanks for responding. I appreciate it, as it is more help than I got from Sears. there is a check valve inside the barbed fitting. ball bearing and a spring. something has to keep this open, in order to allow suction. I'm mechanically inclined, but think there is a special fitting to attach to the pump first, but do not know what it is.

Thank you for choosing ManageMyLife.com. I understand how important it is to be able to get the correct pressure while working with the detergent in your power washer. Make sure that your hose length does not exceed 50 feet. Inspect the filter, gun and detergent tube to be sure they are clean and free of debris. I have included a link to our ManageMyLife page where you can view your manual for maintenance tips. Just click the blue link below to be taken to the page.

If there are no signs of water deposits in the pump manifold then the problem will likely be with those little plastic valves. They are referred to as "check valves". I will occasionally find one of them that shows obvious signs of being damaged, but normally they all look fine. I replace them and everything works again. Do make sure to take the unloader apart and clean it, if you haven't already. Also, make sure to check the nozzle at the end of the wand. More often than not, I find the wand to be causing no flow problems rather than the pump itself.
