I am sorry you are having a problem with the generator. Based on the details provided I suspect the problem is a dirty main jet in the carburetor. To cure the problem you need to move the generator to a well ventilated area and clean the carburetor. I found a video that shows how clean the carburetor on a Briggs and Stratton engine.
