How to replace a dishwasher door outer panel
This dishwasher repair guide offers step-by-step instructions on how to fix a dishwasher door outer panel. Replace the outer door panel of a dishwasher if it's marred or damaged; some dishwashers let you change the panel so you can match it to other kitchen appliances or your kitchen cabinets. Instructions

Shut off electrical power
Flip the house circuit breaker switch to the Off position to disconnect electrical power to the dishwasher. To verify that power is disconnected, make sure the display on the control panel can't be activated.

Remove the outer door panel
Remove the Torx screws on the inner dishwasher door panel that hold the outer door panel in place. Support the outer door panel with one hand as you remove the final 2 screws so it doesn't fall.
Carefully lower and remove the dishwasher door outer panel and set the panel aside for disposal.

Attach the new outer door panel
Position the outer panel on the door and insert 2 screws loosely to hold it in place.
Insert the rest of the screws and finger-tighten them. Then tighten them another 1/4 turn so that they're reasonably firm. Don't overtighten the screws, to prevent cracking or damaging the door panel.
Tip: You might need a helper to hold the new door panel in place while you loosely insert a couple screws to hold the panel in place. - 04.
Restore electrical power
Flip the house circuit breaker switch to the On position. The dishwasher display should light up after you restore electricity. Test that the dishwasher control buttons work.
